The Laurier Accounting Association (LAA), CPA Ontario and the Career Centre invite you to a networking event focussed on the CPA designation and how to pursue it with a position in industry. There are several guests attending who represent various industries. Check back to learn more about the organizations participating in this event. Come learn about how the CPA designation helped them in their careers. The evening will start with a keynote address followed by networking with employers.
Please note that this is a free event and is open to any student interested in learning more about the CPA designation and careers in accounting. Students from any academic program are encouraged to attend.
Students who register and attend the event will have an opportunity to win tickets to CPA Ontario Impact Conference in March where you will learn how you can make an impact on the world with the CPA designation. Networking is an important part of your active job search. To learn more about job search techniques and networking, please refer to the Job Search Guidebook (available in print in the Career Centre or online at wlu.ca/career...job search strategies). Employers may ask you for a networking card, see page 18 of the Job Search Guidebook for information on networking cards. Networking cards may be ordered at The Hub in the Concourse.
On the day of the session:
- Bring your OneCard to sign into the session.
- The dress code for this event is business casual at a minimum.
If you plan to attend, you must register in Navigator as attendance is confirmed with employers. Once registered, you are expected to be present at the session. In the event that you can no longer attend the session, you must cancel your registration in Navigator.
If requested by the employer, only the names of students who attend the event will be disclosed to the employer. Please contact us if you do not want your name disclosed to the employer (recruitlaurier@wlu.ca).
Should you register and fail to attend two sessions without cancelling in advance, you may be required to meet with a Career Centre staff member prior to any further participation in the Graduating Student Employment Service or Summer and Part-time Employment Service.
