Explore your career options and see where your Arts degree can take you!

As a student completing a Bachelor of Arts degree, you may not realize the number of career opportunities available to you. No matter what your major, your degree is the first step in launching your career. Attend this event to learn how Arts alumni have forged their own path and are defining their careers in various fields.

Panelists will each share information about their career paths, details about their current position, address the challenges and rewards of their career, and answer student questions. You will also have the opportunity to connect with panelists one-on-one after the session for additional insight and advice.

Panelists include:

  • Elisa Signoretti, Chief of Staff, Clearpath, BA Communications '07 (Robotics)
    • Elisa Signoretti has over 10 years of experience working in both public and private technology companies at various stages of growth and development. Focusing initially on Sales Operations roles, she was able to develop skills in system configuration and implementation, process design, data management, sales enablement, reporting and analytics, and project management. Leveraging that foundation, she moved into more strategic roles that involved managing teams and coordinating sales planning initiatives, including international sales process development and compensation design. In her current role, she is focused on applying those skills at a corporate level, coordinating strategic planning initiatives and tracking attainment of corporate goals and objectives.

  • Erin Kipfer, Sr. Marketing Manager - Canada, Trustwave, BA Religion & Culture '12 (Cybersecurity)
    • Erin Catherine Kipfer graduated from Laurier with a BA in Religion and Culture in 2012 and continued her education by attaining a Post-Graduate Certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications from Conestoga College in 2013. She began her career as a Territory Manager at LG Electronics in the Mobile Communications division. After her contract ended, instead of accepting the renewal she made the decision to move to Toronto to accept a Marketing Internship at Nextopia Software. Working for a start-up proved to pay off and within 1.5 years Erin had worked her way up to Sr. Marketing Coordinator. After this time at Nextopia, Erin moved home to Waterloo and accepted a Marketing Coordinator position at Sandvine. Erin spent one year at Sandvine and then chose to accept a more challenging role. Erin has held the position of Senior Marketing Manager, Canada at Trustwave since September 2016.

    • Jodi has been at TD Bank since she graduated from Laurier with a BA in Communication Studies and Psychology. Joining in July 2015, as part of TD's inaugural cohort of the Digital Channels Rotational Program, Jodi contributed to four teams over two years, including stints in Payment Innovations, Mobile App Development and Credit Card Strategy. In October 2017, Jodi permanently joined the Digital Sales and Strategy team for Credit Cards, focusing on new account acquisition and account management. Jodi is heavily involved at TD as Communications Manager for the Digital Women in Leadership chapter, committee member for the Enterprise Associate Journal, Wellness Committee and JDRF Team Captain.

    • Miranda is the current Executive Director for the Oxford Community Energy Cooperative in Woodstock, Ontario. Since graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2015 she has been working in the field of sustainability and renewable energy. Miranda's passion for sustainability began when she accepted the role of Student Sustainability Assistant within the Sustainability Office at Laurier. After graduation her experience led her to the Program Director role for Future Oxford and the County of Oxford, developing their Community Sustainability Plan. Through this role she was introduced to the Oxford Community Energy Cooperative (OCEC), a local renewable energy cooperative that serves Oxford and the surrounding area. As Executive Director, Miranda is tasked with overseeing project development, managing investor relations and finances. OCEC's mandate is to empower communities through community power and develop renewable energy project that sustain community needs while providing economic benefit. • Scott Pires, Program Leader - Toronto MBA Programs, Lazaridis School of Business & Economics, Wilfrid Laurier University, BA Political Science '13 (Higher Education)
    • As a student Scott was heavily involved in the Laurier community, which allowed him to translate that passion and experience into a role as Domestic Recruiter with Recruitment & Admissions right on campus. Scott began his career in a four-month contract position as a high school recruiter for the University, which then developed into other positions within the department that gradually expanded his responsibilities. These successive, front-facing positions also included a wide breadth of project and administrative work that allowed Scott to develop a varied skillset alongside public speaking and marketing. The well-roundedness of Scott's experience allowed him to land his current position as Program Leader for Laurier's Toronto MBA programs.
