As a part of the career planning process, it is important to do your research and expand your network. A great way to do this is to engage in conversations with employers. The Career Centre has invited employers to participate in virtual panel discussions about specific topics related to career development. The goal for these panel discussions is to provide students and alumni context and insights from an employer's perspective. These panels will be delivered via Zoom software.
For this panel discussion, the topic is: Who's hiring during COVID-19?
Our guests will answer questions such as these:
What is your organization recruiting for currently?
How have hiring practices changed because of COVID-19?
What are the job prospects and trends in your organization/industry?
During the virtual session, you are welcome to ask your questions in the chat feature.
Confirmed Panelists:
Leanne Fischer, Director, Talent Acquisition - Homewood Health
Leanne has more than twenty years of progressive Human Resource consulting experience including relationship and account management, talent acquisition and recruitment, program implementation, project management, background screening, coaching, training and fiscal accountability. She is a resourceful professional committed to finding great talent and fostering an environment that promotes superior customer service, corporate compliance, risk management, issue resolution, profitable results and enjoyable work.

During her time there, Brittany volunteered at the Career Centre as a Marketing and Peer Outreach Coordinator. In this role, she helped students with their résumés and encouraged career development through events and information booths. She joined FDM in March of 2019 where she continues to help recent graduates find their dream jobs and develop their passion for IT. In her free time, Brittany enjoys trying new workout classes in Toronto and taking her dog for walks by the lake. Something her colleagues might not know about her is that she has a season's pass to Canada's Wonderland and loves going on rollercoasters.
