The Criminology Students Association and the Career Centre are partnering to provide Laurier students with career information specific to opportunities in government and law. Join us as we welcome guests who will share their career experiences and advice from federal and provincial government departments and legal services. Students from all programs are welcome to attend!

Master of Arts (International Affairs)
- Anthony Ippolito is a Senior Policy Officer in the Department of National Defence's Policy Group. Upon earning his Master of Arts in International Affairs from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, he immediately joined the Policy Group and has since served in several positions including, among others, as a speechwriter to the Minister of National Defence and the Chief of the Defence Staff, as the officer responsible for Canada's defence relations with NATO and several European nations, and as an officer on the team that manages DND's relationship with the Parliament of Canada. He also deployed for seven months to the Middle East as the policy advisor on Operation IMPACT, Canada's military contribution to the Global Counter-ISIL Coalition. He is currently the Manager of the Policy Officer Recruitment Programme. In a past life, Anthony served in the Canadian Armed Forces in both the Infantry and Intelligence branches.
- Joyce joined the Ontario Public Service in 2015. Joyce held several roles in the OPS: Program Assistant, Telephone Advisor, Recruitment Clerk, Recruitment Assistant, and most recently as a Recruiter. Joyce's primary duties as a Recruiter includes planning, implementing, and facilitating regional recruitment. As well, promoting and fostering interest in correctional officer employment opportunities and other careers within corrections.
Carrie Sinkowski, Community Developer, Community Legal Clinic - Brant, Haldimand, Norfolk

- Carrie grew up and currently lives in Port Dover, and credits her love for community work to the time she spent working in her grandfather's hardware store. She has been a paid and unpaid worker in the antiviolence sector since the age of 16 which brought her to work in Brantford accepting a CD position in 2002 with the Sexual Assault Centre where she created one of her most cherished projects – Taylor the Turtle. In 2016, she accepted a CD position with the Community Legal Clinic. Carrie has been published by magazines and has work that appears in academic publications. Community development is a passion that she likes to share by teaching at the post-secondary level, and presenting at provincial, national, and international conferences. In her home community, Carrie is involved in various community projects such as her soccer tournament for Migrant Workers, a voter engagement campaign called Folkin Vote, and recreating famous works of art with her beagle, Frankie, who you can find on Instagram.
