Dr. LeeAnn Fishback lives in Churchill, Manitoba and is the Resource Conservation Manager with the Parks Canada team in Churchill. Prior to coming to the Centre, LeeAnn received a Ph.D. from the Western University in London, Ontario, Canada in 2002 conducting research at various locations throughout the High Arctic during 10 years of graduate studies. She enjoys spending time on the land doing hunting, trapping and berry harvesting.
- Ayesha Umme-Jihad
Senior Design Researcher, BMO Digital
Ayesha Umme-Jihad is a researcher and a student, currently working as a Senior Design Researcher at the Bank of Montreal (BMO) while also completing her PhD in Immigration Policy at Ryerson University. Ayesha loves centering human narratives and preferences within UX designs, financial products, and digital platform features at BMO. Her research skills allow her to create safe spaces to capture people's feedback and act as a translator between people and technology. With even more vigour, Ayesha self-diagnoses as a critical race scholar - researching and writing about multiculturalism policy, white supremacy, and conducting critical analyses of reconciliation and Indigenous-Crown relations. As an icebreaker, offer a suggestion or two for her 2021 decolonized reading list or a great spot for takeout in the GTA.
Registration deadline is 3 p.m. the day before the workshop.
