Currently, she is self-learning analytical tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI and more to further improve her technical skills and build up more career opportunities in the future.

  • With over 10 years of professional experience, Nancy has a wide range of expertise ranging from ALM, Financial Risk Management, Risk Analysis, IFRS 17 Implications, and Life and Health Valuation. Nancy is currently the Director of ALM Equity Guarantees at Sun Life, leading the hedging, reporting and analysis of Segregated Fund / Variable Annuity business. Previously, Nancy worked in various fields including Global IFRS 17 Business Implications, Financial Risk Management, Group Valuation and Individual Life Valuation. Nancy is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA). She also has the Financial Risk Manage (FRM) designation. Nancy is an active member in SOA and CIA. She recently became the chair of CIA Investment Practice Committee. She is currently serving on the SOA/CIA/CAS Joint Risk Management Research Committee overseeing the development of various research papers.

  • Talha arrived to university with a mindset to explore opportunities that are unknown to him. He believes that his career is primarily not about technical skills, but about building connections, developing ideas and working with inspired individuals towards common goals. Talha is currently working as a full-time videographer at Naeem Studios Inc. to produce high-quality digital media content for clients.

  • Tarique came to Canada in 2014 as an international student from Jamaica. He studied Biochemistry & Biotechnology while at Laurier and was actively involved several extra-curricular opportunities. On campus, He worked for Residence, Laurier International, the Chemistry department, the Students' Union (as President & CEO and Chair & CGO), Laurier Athletics, International Recruitment & Admissions and the list goes on. Professionally, Tarique has worked in tech, engineering, politics, not-for-profit, immigration and international recruitment. Currently, Tarique is attending a law school at Ryerson University, as well completing a French Proficiency Certificate at Durham College.
