Med School in the Caribbean

Laurier has partnered with the American University of the Caribbean, School of Medicine (AUC), to facilitate medical school options and benefits specific to Laurier students and recent alumni who gain admission to AUC. These benefits include a Laurier-specific scholarship (USD $7,500), a Canadian Student Scholarship (USD $80,000), and housing allowances (varies depending on campus).

AUC is an accredited International Medical University with a 40+ history of academic success and contributions to the medical community internationally and in North America. Students also have the option to choose between our UK track in partnership with the University of Central Lancashire in Preston, England and our Caribbean track on the island of St Maarten.

Our four-year MD program starts with two years of medical sciences curriculum followed by two years completing 80 weeks of clinical rotations, including 42 weeks of core clerkships and 38 weeks of electives. Students complete core clerkships at AUC's network of affiliated teaching hospitals in the U.S. and U.K and have the option of elective rotations at various sites in Canada, the U.S. and abroad in their 4th year.

Dami Olugbode, Associate Director of Students and University Partnerships, will be delivering a detailed presentation about both the UK and St Maarten track and is excited to answer any questions about our university during the session.

This event is online. Register your attendance in Navigator to receive the event link.

This workshop is part of our Plan Ahead for Further Education week, supporting students interested in pursuing post-graduate education. View the calendar to explore our upcoming programming happening this week!
