Since then Kim has had the privilege of helping international clients raise awareness and funds for their causes. While she has worked as an account manager and junior creative director, currently Kim focuses on writing. Kim has lived in Waterloo all her life and she and her husband are raising two teenage boys in this great city. In her downtime, you can find Kim in her studio making stained glass pieces, or she's reading, writing or playing music. She and her family share their home with a dog named Milo and a cat named Sheldon.
  • Lisa Gu, MA '13, Employer Branding Communication Specialist, Princeton Holdings Limited
    • At the age of 13, a small town girl in China had her first English class, and she was hooked. After graduating from university as an English major, she worked at a multinational company in China and learnt how to build trust with people from different cultures. Yet as a communications officer, she sometimes wondered, "What is communication?"
That curiosity drove her to Canada to finish her MA in Communication Studies at Laurier.
Today, she is an employer branding specialist, applying smart marketing tactics to recruit and retain the best talent. At night, she is an Airbnb Superhost, using big data and smart technology to convert viewers into guests.
