Career Exploration Using the Challenge Mindset
Did you know that Laurier Arts and Science graduates are tackling everyday business challenges, while business students are addressing social issues? Break away from the idea that your degree determines your career path. Instead, learn to see the world of work as a landscape of challenges and opportunities, beyond just job titles. This approach is known as "The Challenge Mindset."
Before attending this 90-minute workshop, complete the SparkPath Challenge Card exercise to help you explore career options by identifying real-world challenges that resonate with you. You'll also learn some straightforward yet effective strategies to help you navigate the often daunting question: "What do I want to do after graduation?" Be sure to bring your laptop to this session for the research exercises.
This session qualifies for the Engagement and Employability Certificate.
Complete the following components to earn the certificate, a valuable addition to your resumé and Laurier Experience Record:
- Attend Unlock Your Competencies Workshop
- Attend Thrive in the Workplace Workshop OR Network with Confidence Workshop
- Conduct an informational interview OR complete a mock interview appointment
- Attend any three Career Centre events from the following event calendar categories:
