Laurier’s Faculty of Science offers programs that are contemporary and competitive, designed to attract the highest quality students and to provide them with a stimulating education and thorough preparation for employment or further studies. Small class sizes in the science programs provide an opportunity for interaction between students and faculty and for practical laboratory learning. The faculty is a centre for research in the natural, physical and social sciences.
Science Co-op is available to honours students in the following majors:
"My co-op position as a Research Assistant at Laurier with Professor Wartak helped me to put into practice the concepts I have been taught in physics, math and computer for the past two years. While involved with a team in modeling of semiconductor optical amplifiers using the transmission-line method, I learned valuable programming specific skills, as well as research, documentation and inquiry methods that will help me as a student and in my future career. The hands-on approach of my team-mates has made me learn more about my own capabilities in this rapidly growing field."
